Protective Face Coverings
- All students, faculty, staff and visitors will be required to wear masks or cloth face coverings when they are in buildings on campus. UT community members can remove their face coverings in a campus building if they are alone and in a private office or space, or in their assigned residence hall room (once residence halls reopen).
- Throughout the summer months, all UT employees who are authorized to work on campus must continue to cover their faces with a mask or cloth covering whenever they are inside buildings unless they are in a private office or space.
Testing will continue for students, faculty and staff who are symptomatic of COVID-19.
We are developing a plan to test asymptomatic individuals on a voluntary basis.
We plan to build on-campus capabilities to conduct asymptomatic testing consistent with epidemiological recommendations — at a lower marginal cost than we currently bear from the private sector.
We are also reviewing options and policies for screening members of the UT community who enter buildings on campus for symptoms and will provide more information as we finalize our approach.
Mental Health Services
The Counseling and Mental Health Center will continue to offer all services via telehealth in the fall.
Medical Health Services
- University Health Services, which has continued to care for students since campus closed, will resume all services on campus this fall. UHS will scale on-campus staffing based on social distancing and the ability to provide safe patient care and a safe work environment for staff members.
